Only 1½ miles from the A1, the village of Auchencrow stands in peaceful countryside with the Lammermuir Hills rising to the west.

The Craw Inn is a splendid tranquil retreat and an ideal base for hill walkers, golf, and all country pursuits. There is diving at St. Abbs, fishing in the River Whiteadder and horse riding can be arranged nearby.

Accommodation

Built in the early 18th century, the Craw Inn is an attractive listed building with a beer garden to the rear. The Inn has been completely refurbished but the old charm still survives and the atmosphere is welcoming and informal. The Inn has three guest bedrooms, all with private modern facilities.

Traditional Scottish Fare

The Inn has a good reputation for its food with the emphasis on traditional Scottish fare. The style of cooking is driven by the supply of fine local ingredients and making the most of them.

The extensive menu includes fresh local fish and shellfish landed at Eyemouth and St. Abbs, game in season and the red meat is bred locally. Guests can enjoy full-flavoured well hang steaks and Lammermuir Spring Lamb.

Fine Wines and Cask Conditioned Real Ales

Fine wines and cask conditioned real ales to complement the food. Visitors can enjoy bar meals which include home-made pies, home cured hams and freshly baked bread with the seasonal soups. The bar menu has a variety of lighter dishes such as Greek Salad, fresh crab sandwiches and smoked cheese baguettes.

The Restaurant

Dining in the restaurant is equally relaxed and informal but the dishes are more elaborate. Guests can enjoy whole fish, cooked on the bone, moules mariniere, scallops or langoustines.

Assiette de fruits de mer is available on 48 hours notice. Fans of red meat are well catered for with excellent steaks and accompanying sauces. Chicken is prepared in a range of enticing sauces, duck is served with morels and guinea fowl is stuffed with dried fruits. There is also a vegetarian dish of the day.

Private Functions

The Craw Inn has a small private dining room, perfect for small business meetings and special occasions. we also cater for weddings, christenings, birthday parties etc.
